O’Connor Associates is a leading edge geoenvironmental consulting firm with a focus on creating innovative, practical solution for environmental problems. We are seeking engineers and scientists at intermediate levels to join our multi-disciplinary team in Langley (Vancouver), British Columbia.
As part of our geo-environmental team in Langley, training will begin either in the field or office, working under the direction of more experienced project managers and field staff to coordinate and implement various aspects of site investigation and remediation projects. As the training program progresses and experience is gained, you will be expected to coordinate and implement field work independently, supervise contractors in the field, and assist project managers in the preparation of reports. This experience will lead toward becoming a project manager, responsible for project design and implementation, directing more junior staff in the field, budget planning and control, report preparation, and client liaison.
Successful candidates will possess the following attributes:
Experience in contaminated site assessment, remediation, and/or risk assessment
Undergraduate or graduate degree in geology, soil science, related engineering discipline;
Membership or eligibility for membership with APEGBC;
Strong communication and technical writing skills; and
Experience in preparing proposals and managing project budgets.
